domestic comforts Daishi finished setting the small wooden tale and smiled inwardly. After his near breakdown at the crime scene, Aya and the Chief had ordered him a day's rest. The only problem with a day's rest is that it was always so lonely. After seeing Aya off with a carefully prepared bento, the seeker had indulged in a long nap before turning to the soothing domestic tasks to be done around the apartment. Washing windows, mopping floors, and, of course, stopping by the market for some choice snow crabs. His partner would not be expecting such a meal upon his arrival, but Daishi, as usual, felt the need to spoil his partner. The nesting urges intensified when he was alone, and Aya's absence made him skittish and sore with longing.He had long ago given up scolding himself for bonding so closely to another male, it was, in his opinion, much too late to undo his affection for the kyton, even if children could not be had. The thought saddened Daishi, for he'd like nothing more than a brood of children to care for, to fill the nest he tried so desperately to build to mend his aching heart. Still... Aya was a gift, and his feelings for the kyton had become a source of hope and hapiness that equalled that of a child bearing mate. Of course Daishi could not tell the kyton this, kytons were not known for their romance, and Daishi believed that Aya would want nothing less than a strong female kyton to carry on his line. Once more, the thought saddened Daishi, but he pushed it away. Aya was his clan for now, and he must focus on now, for who knew what tomorrow would bring? Carefully, Daishi laid out the crabs and butter on their plates and watched the kitchen clock in anticipation of his partner's arrvial. He could feel Aya near, surely it would be soon.
